OVERVIEW

Welcome to the overview and development of our project Biotic! My name is Kyle and I'm the lead of WickedGames and the sole programmer for the project. Currently leading a team of 3 artists and 1 voice actor in the development of this First Person Shooter game. Biotic is inspired by other popular games such as Dead Space, Half Life, and DooM. At times progress may be slow as I am the only one working full time on it and the rest of the team works on their spare time. Given as everyone has busy lives I will do my best to keep this updated as often as I am still heavy in development working to bring some content to show. Here are some of the things you can look forward to.

FEATURES

A narrative driven and action packed shooter with voiced dialogue.

Enemy limb dismemberment with plenty of gore

Special effects such as explosions, dripping gore, electricity, fire and more.

Save and Load functionality with quick saves, checkpoints, and manual save slots.

An arsenal of weapons which include an Axe, Pistol, Shotgun, SMG, and Grenades with more to come!

Full and original animations for weapons.

Full use of PBR materials and Unity's HDRP to allow for high quality environments and lighting.

Narrative

The story is still under wraps and being modified all the time so anything about it is subject to change. You play the role of an unnamed engineer apart of a large facility aimed to replicate colony life on other planets. The facility itself is underground and although owned by a private corporation has heavy ties with the Government for funding and logistics. Because of this they also take part in military contracts since a part of the facility is aimed at scientific growth. Many personnel on-site live in dorm style bunkers and spend their days carrying out work-orders dependent on their profession. A sophisticated AI helps run the facility and keeps track of security clearances and personnel are required to carry and use their ID pass cards to traverse anywhere. Spanning a large geographical location the facility is connected via a subway style transportation system.

After settling into the facility the player will traverse to their work site and learn some mechanics of the game. Eventually the player will find themselves apart of a fixing a large device in a high-tech testing lab. During the process something of course goes awry and the player will witness events unfold as the experiment releases horrific beings that start to kill, eat, and absorb personnel. The AI will being to shut down the facility in an attempt to secure any data the facility has with the majority of personnel being expendable. This beings the players frantic escape from the facility and inevitable battle against The Biotic.
