OK, it appears that some busybody gossip sites are doing more rumor-mongering. Lemme make another official announcement:

*ahem*

Richard Garriot is not hiring on with The Code Zone. He is not planning to put together a collection of small-format persistent-world games. He is not planning a new product called Minesweeperon's Underworldquest, in which players will get to blow their enemies up by tricking them into clicking the wrong square. He has not rented out an office in Watauga and decorated it with renaissance faire cast-offs. He does not constantly ask me if I think he's more talented than Roberta Williams, and he does not talk about how relieved he is that Mystery Science Theater 3000 was canceled before they could get hold of Wing Commander: The Movie.

Furthermore, John Romero is not joining The Code Zone as head of the money-burning department. He does not have a grand plan to release Solitaireal III Tournament Arena Katana which will allow players to destroy each others' cards in 3D. He did not trademark the phrase "I got your king of clubs right here!" in anticipation of the release. He is not sleeping on the cot in my guest room to avoid the Eidos hit-men, and he does not get nasty long black hairs stuck in my shower drain.

I hope that clears everything up.
