Review controversy (oooh, controversy)

Well, not really controversial. Maybe. We'll see.

I just finished reading Harbour's Game Programming All In One and posted a review here.

While the review itself isn't all that controversial, this is the first book from Jonathan Harbour that I reviewed since PocketPC Game Programming Using The Windows CE Game API. That review wasn't all that positive, and I pointed out several problems I had with the book. In response, Harbour himself posted his own review (giving himself five stars in the process, the hubris) yelling at me for not liking his book more.

The review of Game Programming All In One is more positive than PocketPC Game Programming Using The Windows CE Game API, so I guess we'll see if the author is as fragile about his latest book as that one.

On an entirely different note, realtors are a pain in the ass. I'm still trying to sell the old place, and we recently fired our realtor in favor of a new one. The new one expressed dismay that she couldn't take pictures of one room because that's where I was keeping some old moving boxes. I mentioned that the boxes were empty and would move quite easily, but she was adamant that the boxes be removed so she could take a picture.

So now I'm going to drive 32 miles to move a dozen empty boxes. Home-selling sucks.
