Hi, I just want to know what everyone''s favorite music software would be. I have been using a midi composer for a long time. It is useful, but I can''t add any samples that I want such as overdrive guitar FX or human voices. What would be some perfect softwares(no special sound card required) that allows user to compose melodies as well as edit or add samples to creat special effects. Email: c3ooo@hotmail.com AIM: c3ooo

Well I guess its a matter of taste but I use Cubase SX and like it very much. http://www.steinberg.net/
But to use it full you will need a good soundcard with ASIO drivers. Like RME, Midiman, Echo etc...

The 3 big sequenser programs are Cubase, Logic and Sonar. But Logic will only develop for Mac now.
Don''t forget Cakewalk!

Or ProTools.

(Hint: if your budget doesn''t look like the Gross National Product of a small country, don''t look up ProTools ).
It's only funny 'till someone gets hurt. And then it's just hilarious.Unless it's you.
Pro Tools 5.0 can be downloaded for free, full version, no limits, at digidesign''s homepage.

For me it''s Fasttracker II all the way!

Looking for a music composer for your game? Go to my page to listen to samples of my orchestral pieces and find info on how to contact me.
***Symphonic Aria, specialising in music for games, multimedia productions and film. Listen to music samples on the website, www.symphonicaria.com.
Fruity Loops 3.56 is good too if you use the appropriate plug-ins... (lots of choices)
Either, you can use Sound Forge to modify your samples as wanted and then use them in FruityLoops or other programs...
The full version of Pro Tools is not freely available for download. There''s a free version of Pro Tools for download but it is limited to 8 tracks and will not run on Win2k/XP, and even on Win98/ME it uses Windows wave drivers (no ASIO or anything like that).

My vote goes for Logic (though 5 will be the last Windows version) and Reason.

Logic Audio series
(silver, gold, platinum: different versions for different prices),
and the cheaper MicroLogic series (quite powerful for its price!)

The editing tools are superior to other software''s
that I''ve seen.
One software to find them,
one software to seek them out and in the darkness bind them...

The one software I speak of is of course...

Power Tracks Pro Audio 7.0

It''s $40 and has enough features to make all the rest cower in its presence.
