Hey guys... The game we are working on (www2.jps.net/~johncb/) is coming along very nicely. It''s a real time strategy game like StarCraft, Warcraft, etc. The graphics (when the finished game is out) will be comparable to WarCraft III, entirely in OpenGL (GLUT to be specific). Our terrain technology we are developing will be advanced and will allow for higher framerates and more realistic graphics, especially with the use of MLM and other optimization tricks we have up our sleeves. The game engine it self will exploit the possibilites of particle system''s and their capabilities. Graphical/visual effects will be most advanced.. We have been discussing the possiblities of realtime model division. An example of this would be a human getting shot in the neck, ripping the head off his torso without the use of prefabricated deaths, the division of the head and torso is calculated on the model. This will increase realism for this hellish game.. The war is between humans, AI, mutants and 2 alien races. Each having their weaknesses and strengths. The game will be oriented around multiplayer. Rather than having missions for single player, you will play multiplayer against the computer or friends. As for the work being done on the game we could use some modelers and mappers. There are some shots of the model and map editors in action and they will be released for ppl to try out and see if they would like to help us out with those. We have the tools made, they could use some touching up then when released we will start on the actual game engine itself. The engine won''t take nearly as long as the editors simply because we have finished writing the code and we can just copy it, optimize it and use it in our engine. We would be glad to include your material in our game if it qualifies (is good).. As of this time the page is under construction but you can still contact us from the page. http://www2.jps.net/~johncb/ I highly recommend you check it out, your support motivates us to keep doing our best, writing the fastest, most realistic 3d technology you can get from a game. Remember, this game is planned to be commercial if things work out. Otherwise there will probably be nothing.. -Chazz
