I dont get it. Why does a glut teapot render slower than a gl made teapot? If I was writing an engine, would I use both or should I stay with gl.h for all my gl commands?

glut is a utility library for opengl. If you are making an engine us gl cause its faster.

i am a slut not a glut, josh wears osh oh my fuckin gosh, Matt is sofa king fat...... oh shit what was the question, i could sure use a slut right now. see ya!
after Anon''s rather humourous/silly post, I will simply say that a glut teapot renders slower than a hand built GL teapot is because you are adding an extra layer of abstraction.

I would stick with gl.h and possibly glu.h, if you want some extra functionality.
