i think all o those problems are resolved in win98se, i dont think i will need the patch one good thing that they fixed in win98se was that c:\con\con problem. u can''t run it anymore (just like NT)
btw, does anyone know whay that thing happens when u run c:\con\con? and why does it give me error when i try to make a directory called "con" in any folder?

No, you need to use internet security software such as Guard Dog or Norton Internet Security. They will detect which program is trying to connect from your computer.
Interesting finding: Front Page Express (free in Win98) is trying to use internet connection without user''s permission! Microsoft cannot be trusted.
Yeah I prefer to trust my own judgement too. BlackIce coupled with an IP_spoofer usually does the trick, and checking your netstat''s a good idea if you think something is wrong
