I was considering to buy the book "Programming in Lua", because for what I've seen in the online version, it's a very complete book to learn how to write good Lua scripts, and the chapter which explains how to embed Lua in C is not bad, but for what I've seen, also not good :S This book does not seem to contain a reference manual explaining all the functions of the C Lua API, and that's annoying, specially considering that a much younger language like Squirrel contains a full reference manual in its standard documentation. Does anybody knwo where may I find the reference of the Lua C API?
Umm, under the documentation link on the main lua.org homepage maybe?

No, the official reference manual is more for the Lua syntax itself than for the Lua C API.
There's a whole section of the manual dedicated to the C API here.
The reference manual barely helped me at all, I learned 90% of what I need to do bindings and such from the pil book.
