Just came across this awesome tool called as3sfxr via this blog post: Game SFX maker in Flash This is really cool. The software (Flash) is embedded in the blog post and you can try it out right there. Just try fiddling around with the different buttons and see what it generates. It's not going to fit the style/needs of every game, but its great if you need sounds for your game quickly and don't have the time/people to create custom SFX from scratch. The generator code is open source too. The project page is here.
