Hi, Explain me something: If game developers use 3d Studio Max or Maya to create the characters, the scenario, etc... for what is OpenGL used ???!!! Thank YOU, Cherub

OpenGL does real time rendering. You can make the models in 3D programs for OpenGL to render, but prerendering every single possible angle of a model and saving them as images would be insane. OpenGL renders as is needed, with the model you made, with differing lighting, positioning, rotation, blending, texturing, et cetera.

3dsmax use opengl, directx and heidi . Many 3d-programs use opengl because is more easy to work with this, but practically there not are difference in opengl and direct.
