Hi, I''ve been wanting to learn how to write a simple sound synthesiser in software, but wasn''t sure where to get started. I just wanted to generate my own square, sine, triangle waves, that sorta thing. Does anybody have any pointers on where to learn this stuff from? Currently, I''m having a read at the DirectMusic/DirectSound help files, am I looking in the right place or are there better things to be reading? Thanks! Gurce

get a nord lead. it comes with software that lets you do anything you want.
Theres a lot of good code at the DSP source code archive. Try www.smartelectronix.com/musicdsp

Learning DirectSound is the way to go, and once you''ve got the basic waveforms adding a time-varying envelope and filter will be fairly simple. Good Luck!
Thanks guys

Its always nice to get pointed in the right direction!
