need some way to get a file from .max to .3ds

i have 3ds max 4 and i have made a model and my friend who makes games has asked to use it. the problem is that he only can use .3ds model files. i have olny been modeling for 3 days. so help!
you have 3dsmax 4 and have only been modeling for 3 days? first off, try actually buying the software. secondly, read the help files or manuals. its a very easy thing to do.
