Would like to see monthly competitions for beginner/amateur developers.

Am a fan of seasonal/pagan holiday competitions and themes. Samhain, Lughnasad, Beltane, etc.

Then you have Christmas, Independence Day, thanksgiving themes that could make good competitions. I wouldn't mind helping orchestrate some, though as an amateur ad beginner, I wouldn't mind participating in them either, so maybe running them should I to someone else.
