I see **= and >>>= in a lot of places in the documentation but any of them explain what it does.

What do these things do?

These are compound assignment operators.

A **= B; means A = A ** B; (** is power-of or exponent operator)

A >>>= B; means A = A >>> B; (>>> is arithmetic shift right)
