Pages failing to load

I keep getting "Aw, Snap!" (Google Chrome failed to load) errors when loading pages.

It doesn't happen 100% of the time, but even when a page seems to load completely, the loading icon in the tab keeps spinning quite often.

Additionally, when I tried to quote a post, the editor window was really slow/unresponsive.

I've seen this on occasion myself. Still trying to narrow down the exact cause, but it appears to be related to certain ads not loading.

Not sure on the editor window though. I quoted your post specifically to test this myself, and I'm not seeing any issues.

So I'm not the only one. Having problems since yesterday with Edge, page loading getting stuck. Hard to pin point it, seems to happen when going back and forth in several threads.

The editor slowdown doesn't seem to happen all the time. When it happens it almost impossible to do anything -- even the blinking text cursor/caret thing is lagging.

Hello to all my stalkers.

I haven't seen editor problems (but then I use the raw text editor not the rich one) but I've definitely seen the page go "Aw Snap" a lot lately.

Looks like some errors coming from Google's ads.

Now that I've had it enough times I can see it in Chrome's logs.

Before eventually slowing and crashing:

* http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/osd.js is generating several console log errors about content getting blocked for security reasons (osd.js:30 Blocked a frame with origin "http://tpc.googlesyndication.com" from accessing a frame with origin "http://www.gamedev.net". Protocols, domains, and ports must match.)

* http://partner.googleadservices.com/gpt/pubads_impl_90.js is making a ton of requests that go on and on and on for about two minutes.

* http://aax-cpm.amazon-adsystem.com/x/getad?jsd=1&src=320&c=100&u=http"%"3A"%"2F"%"2Ftpc.googlesyndication.com"%"2Fsafeframe"%"2F1-0-4"%"2Fhtml"%"2Fcontainer.html"%"3Fn"%"3D42&... also seems to appear right before the crash several times. So possibly something to do with an ad being provided through amazon?

For the past several days, with Chrome, the pages never stop loading. Usually (but not always) they still work, but the "spinning disk" never ends. Some errors in the console:

Refused to execute script from 'https://joinme.sp1.convertro.com/view/vt/v1/joinme/1/cvo.gif?cvosrc=display.40814.212242220254081429&cvo_creative=85415327' because its MIME type ('image/gif') is not executable.

Definitely narrowed it down to the Amazon ads. Based on some other data they seem to have had major problems the last 5 or so days. I'll give it a few more days to see if things get better, and if it doesn't then I'll dial them down to reduce the impact.

The problem seems to be gone for the moment.

...aaaaaand there it is again. :(

Still occurring.
