How to turn off the partial WYSIWYG while posting?

It can be annoying when parts of your text inadvertently gets converted to formatting and you can not easily convert it back. For example, if writing Markdown you can easily escape an underscore later. With the WYSIWYG thing it already ate the underscore in the middle of an identifier you wanted to mention and converted it into a formatting change, so you have to fiddle with selecting and clicking the buttons to remove the italic text and readd the missing character somehow.

The editor takes up most of the screen on a cheap mobile device. Not everyone has fast internet and a fast device.

It is in the plan to offer a simple editor option.

The fastest option - as in, most immediate solution - would be to allow text-only forms (so no formatting). If that is okay as an interim, incremental improvement then it should be a fairly simple option to support in the very near term.

Sounds actually better than that broken POS we have now. Anything that does not crap out while editing. A plain simple textbox.
