We are working on a VR shooter game with many interesting elements. We have a good team and doing very well in terms of progress. Our plan is to finish MVP this Summer with final version to be released by late Autumn / Winter 2024. Currently focused on Quest 2 / 3 devices.

The game takes place on the surface of random planets, and player has to survive enemy waves for a given time. There are several biomes, and respectively it leads to variation of planet surfaces (task for level designer) and enemy types (task for C++ dev). If it sounds interesting, I can share the GDD. About 25% of the game is finished.

About C++ Dev

Will be responsible for land enemies. The role requires you to think of enemy concepts and to implement them. Naturally, you will get support from us in all the steps. Based on workload, perhaps second developer will be invited too. There will be variety of enemies. E.g. humanoid, animal, machinery (vehicle/tank), and etc. Some will be ranged - here the player has to avoid their projectiles. Some will get close.

About Level Designer

Initial idea for terrain / level was to do it procedural (as in Minecraft), in order to provide unique experience to the player. Currently we are uncertain about it, since it looks like this option won’t allow for baked lighting. Another alternative approach is to have collection of pre-made levels for each biome to have some kind of variety. E.g. for “Dune” biome, to have 5 levels with slightly different sand colors, variation of terrain and props. So, initially we will have to investigate which one of these paths we take, and then go forward with the implementation. Though the latter seems more realistic. In case of PCG, then again you will get support from us in terms of programming.

About you:

- Spend ~20 hours per week. Strong commitment is a must.

- Comfortable in UE

- Solid C++ (for dev)

Nice to haves:

- VR headset

- Exp. in VR

- Exp. In Enemy Programming (for dev)

- Exp. In Low-Poly / Optimized Level Design (for level designer)
