Havent got a clure realy... isnt it what that game Esctasia something arather used...?... where all the characters where made from semi 3d spheres?.

I think and old demo from future crew had an effect they called vector balls

Or maybe Red Sector Megademo.

They had a helicopter made from spritebased-spheres. It could be seen from any angle.

I thought the circles used in ecstatica where ellipsoids(which I suppose are the same as vectorballs)?....... . . I don''t think it''s a very efficient technology.

Vectorballs -

Oldskool demo-effect where the demo rotates and translates 3d-points, sorts them in a proper order and then displays them as 2d-sprites (usually balls)
