I recently made my self a nice little snowboarder for a game and when it came time to animate i decided to use IK for the first time. I built my skeleton all nice and perdy and posed him into his main stance. when it came time to animate him i ran into trouble; the method of posing i use is the Edit Joins>Value method, when i tried to double right click on the joint (to edit it) after moving to a keyframe of 10, the keyframe slider was set back to zero. i could just animate him by dragging parts of him around, but i find that it produces poor results. anyone got any suggestions? maybee a work-around of somekind?

My suggestion would be to NOT use the built-in IK animation tools - they're horrendously bad and inadequate for even the most simple animations. Check out Mentemagica's (http://www.mentemagica.com) PoseMixer, which is sort of a non-linear animation plugin that lets you build animations based on poses, in conjunction with Black Knight Productions' (http://www.blackknightproductions.co.uk) Puppeteer2 plugin, which gives you sliders for each joint and bone. You can also buy the AniPak directly from Caligari, which includes these two plugins plus many other useful plugins for animation, and it's reasonably cheap.
