Clarification about sprites, tilemaps and another things...

Your graphical problem isn't obvious: the screenshot shows a perfect, properly antialiased, 35° wall.
There is only an unfortunate choice of floor texture (in real houses, tiles are aligned with walls) that can be corrected with mere asset adjustments (skew the current image 35°, wrap around t…

Hello, I’m on track to finish my degree in game development this autumn and am focusing on projects to fill out a portfolio. My goal is to work for a small-ish indie studio, or find some level of success as a solo indie developer or part of a two person team (everybody has already told me that’s im…

I will be graduating soon in August with my bachelors in video game programming and I am not sure what to focus on. I have made a number of game features using both UE4 blueprints along with C++ though I feel somewhat unprepared for a job interview. What would an interviewer want to see and what sh…

I can't really speak for the industry at large, but I've never heard of anyone in games taking any certification programs seriously. On the other hand I know lots of places that are happy to hire candidates without degrees who have interesting personal projects (typically published on GitHub these …

Imho the dx9c book still provides a lot of information that's still relevant. So if you can get a hold of it cheap, sure why not. If you have the choice though, 11 would be better.

Aiming only at the end goal without some intermediate points in-between makes life and development complic…
