Hello again everyone! :)
I've been drawing away at this tent for a bit now, trying to figure out the best design for it.

It'll be the Protagonists temporary house at the start of the game, so it's pretty important but I can't decide which version to go with.
So I decided to let you guys decide :)

Here's a picture of all three designs, please leave your vote in the comments and I guess tomorrow Morning I'll see which one you guys like best, and finish that one.

Have wonderful rest of your day and thanks for taking the time :)

Middle one as well. Just a tip, try to avoid black outlines unless the material itself within the art is actually black in color. It is far better to define edges by color value. This doesn't apply of course if the art style itself is using black outlines on purpose.

Those are actually supposed to be tent poles ?

Oh okay. :) I always consider that tent poles are inside the tent holding the material in place in such a design. The poles being outside and overtop of the material would look off which is most likely why people will find the middle tent more natural looking.

I like your middle tent, looks good!

Only comment is about your black outlines. You have the standing stones with strong black outlines around them and other scenery without any black outline. Depending on your goals for the art style I would suggest you pick one or the other and use it consistently.

So attached is a version of your tent with a black outline to match the rocks. Agree that the middle one looks the best.

@Glasshalfpool  I'm still learning a lot about Pixel Art, and that black outline around the standing stones will be nullified next chance I get to work on them. Thanks for the advice though :)

Did you post these as jpegs or is that just this website?  Either way, it's painful to look at.

That said, the middle one.

@a light breeze That was just a picture I snipped off my desktop. Here's the finished product

Thanks for informing me that it's hard to look at... I bdly wanted orange because it's supposed to be an emergency tent, but that won't work with my background will it?

The problem isn't so much the pixel art itself, as the jpeg compression artifacts.  Jpegs and a pixel art do not mix.

That said, some more color contrast between the tents and the background certainly wouldn't hurt.

I'd like bottom left the best if the ropes weren't so jarringly dark compared to the rest of the artwork. If you made them less black it would work better.

As it stands i prefer the middle one.

@Brain as of right now I think the clear winner is the Middle one ?

@a light breeze My art is all Png once I'm done with it. I know to avoid Jpeg in Pixel art.
The problem with contrast is that Orange and contrast next to a whitish background is painful.... any ideas?

Also, the pictures I showed above are just for style, not art
