I started learning programming 5 years ago because it became clear to me by the advice of others that if I can't afford to pay someone to make the game, I have to make it myself. So, I started small with some arcade like games in some game engines and i've been practicing pretty regularly and learning more about game development. I started a project around the same time I started learning programming. I worked on my game simultaneously as I learned programming. So, my game project has been steadily being built. To give you an idea of the game, it's basically a top down 2d RPG, but it's very strategy feeling like. The graphics are basic GUI elements like shapes, text, colors, user interface components, etc. Anyways, I will be sharing more about it soon because I am at that point where I am happy to share it because alot of progress has been made. I had to make an editor for creating the game maps so that took alot of time and i'll be sharing alot of that for the time being. Thanks for reading my first blog, look forward to sharing more later.
