hi, im new to game developement and everything, ive got about 2 years of c behind me and all, and i want to learn windows/game programming(a friend of mine wants to make a fighting game, i told him i would try to help)

I''m 18 years old. I don''t know a thing about C++ programming, or even DirectX. I''m here to learn how to program games, and in the long run, try to write software for the Xbox.

no actually on seconed thoughts change that to an in...
But could we please slow down a bit for some newbies to direct x etc and would it be an idea to have several projects as the amount of people replying is so phenonominal. .. . . ..
